HYDROMECHANICAL DECOKING

 

1.What pressure are you using ? Is it possible to damage our coils?

Our decoking process does not require that much of high pressure as you might think of.  The working pressure during the cleaning process is 6 - 7bars, with the possibility to fluctuate for about a millisecond up to 20-25 bars, in case the scrapper passes through very narrow points along the pipe with significant coke deposits.

Determining factor for us is a water supply (L / min). This should be large enough to allow the creation and circulation of the water ring on the length of coiled thread (600-2500 m) of the appropriate diameter. This is the main parameter that provides power to our cleaning equipment.

2. Is there any risk of damaging the pipes with the metal studs of the scrappers during the cleaning process?

No there is no damage of the inner walls, during the cleaning process.

There are several factors that guarantee the safe and risk-free operation:

  • We use scrappers with soft core technology. Even though the outside of the scrapper  seems to be hard, the scrapper is compressible and get becomes flexible under the motion of the flowing water through the coil.
  • The hardness of the scrapper studs is less than the hardness of steel pipes to be cleaned.
  • Our decoking process is controlled by a gradual increase of the scrapper size by 0.25 inch (6 mm), which eliminates any possibility of using a scrapper with a diameter larger than the internal diameter of the pipe being cleaned.
  • Our scrappers used have a compression limit on the 10-15%. Beyond this level the scrapper breaks into pieces and cannot damage the inner surface,\.
  • All of our scrappers are made for a specific customer need, taking into account individual design features of the coils, pipes and other materials.

3. Are you able to clean pipes with varying diameters along the length of the coil?

Yes, we have already carried-out a lot of jobs like that. As for example in primary processing furnaces (vacuum pack), where the change in the diameter of the coil (up to 5 diameters) is an essential structural feature of their process.The decoking process begins with the smallest of the diameters and then we move to the following  size, with the launch of scrapper launcher via the receiving-chamber connected to the outlet of the radiant section. Our decoking units are equipped with a monitoring system through which we control the movement of the scrapper throughout the length of the coil. Therefore our operators can see the transition point of diameter and change the direction of the water flow along     with the movement of the scrapper in the opposite direction, not forcing it into a zone of smaller diameter. This delicate procedure requires high attention  and is carried – out by our experienced staff.

4. Can you clean the coil in the convection section where steam-air decoking is ineffective?  

Yes we can and urge you to decoke the entire length of the convection section, because of salt-and coke formation over time. If the coil design or other reasons can allows only the decoking of the convection section, this can be done after this is disconnected from the radiant section.The convection section is a very important part of the fired heaters. 5. Can you clean the coil vertically, and how the water will be removed after cleaning?

Yes we can – Unlike in the steam-air decoking, we have no problem cleaning this type of coils. With our hydro mechanical decoking process, coke is removed in the form of fines (like sand), and is carried in the flow of water from the coil. In case of steam – air decoking the vertical coil is a big problem, since there is the risk of blocking the bottom of the coil by coke chunks deposits blocking the flow of the subsequent air or water. 
After carrying out our decoking process, drainage of excess water can be removed by blowing compressed air from a compressor connected to our launcher. After that MAGICROT employees can use soft scrapper (sponge) for  removal of residual water from the coil. Subsequent heating of radiant section (at moderate temperature)  wil completely evaporate any water.

 

6. Are you prepared to do for us a test work for free in order to prove the advantages of your method and give us the opportunity to get acquainted with the technology?

Our company MAGICROT provides hydro mechanical decoking services since 2007.  Throughout this period we have already done a lot of projects for a large of number of customers of public and private sector in the oil refining sector. Our customers have already been convinced for the value of our services and we constantly receive from them thank letters with positive testimonials. HYDROJETTING

 

1.Is it possible to completely clean blocked pipelines or the tubes of heat exchanger?

Yes, the cleaning of pipelines and tubes is possible by our HydroJetting system.


2. What type of deposits can you delete?

Our HydroJetting system can remove both organic deposits (coke, polyethylene, e.t.c.) and inorganic (scale, rust, lime deposits ...)

3. Can you clean the space between the tubes welded heat exchangers, shell with your system?

No. To clean the annulus it is necessary to extract the tube bundle and this cannot be done in this type of heat exchanger.

4. Can you also clean tanks with your system?

Yes, our HydroJetting system can clean various types of tanks

5. How long will it take to clean a pipe of 100m length and diameter 250 mm?

Ultimately it will depend on the type of sediment in the pipeline and its configuration (number of taps, valves, etc.).

For example: cleaning of 100 meters of the pipeline with sticky coke deposits (50% block) will not take more than 24 hrs.

Inspection services

1.How precise is the method?

The depth precision is 100 microns axially 40 reading per 10 mm.

2.How long does it take to inspect a furnace?

With a corresponding compliance to our requirements for set-up procedure, we can inspect an 8 pass heater in a 12 hour shift.

3.Is any special tube surface preparation required?

Non, except hydro-mechanical decoking.

4.How soon can the reports be issued?

A day after the furnace is inspected.

5.What is the price for the inspection of one furnace?

A filled questionnaire will give the client the precise service cost for your furnace without any obligations whatsoever to the client.
